I think he'll stay on as GM.
Rivera can't do everything and Smith has proven he can handle the job. By working together Smith can focus on picking the players that mesh well with Rivera's culture and Rivera can focus on catching them. Whether or not Ron agrees with that will determine Smith's fate.
