It probably will go on for the rest of this century and probably the next as well. That said I put this entirely on the Arabs. In 1948 there were 2 states and it was the Arabs that decided they wanted it all and chose war to get their way and never renounced the goal of Israels destruction. And they have been complaining ever since about the Israeli's being better at violence than them. You've seen the meme if the Israelis laid down their weapons they would be annihilated, if the Arabs did there would be peace. That actually is accurate.
