Simply unbelievable. I felt like many people that his injury would certainly be career ending. So does Alex Smith start this year at some point? Or do we try and trade him now that he will be able to be signed elsewhere?

I dont think anyone is going to trade for him. I also dont think we should trade him. He is one of three quarterbacks on the roster and if he can actually help that is great. It isn’t like he had a head injury and needs to think about his future. He had an infection which isn’t going to necessarily come back if he gets hurt again. Amazing that he is back and cleared for action. Great story.

Agreed. Truly incredible he came back. He still has to be cleared by the NFL/team. Think it's Haskins job for sure though with a fairly short leash. Allen will be on his heels. Either way, this is nothing but a good thing and I'm very happy for Alex Smith.

I didn't think this day would actually happen but kudos to Smith for what no doubt has been one of the hardest road to recoveries ever. Also a testimony for the unbelievable advances in modern medicine. I hope once he gets confirmed to practice he'll be another asset to Haskins and this team. And if he wants another shot at a starting job then I would be happy to trade him to the team of his choosing.
