Re: Landry is MIA
If he's preparing on his own and knows what he needs to get done, no big deal. Sucks that he's really the only guy not there though; he seems like a guy that keeps himself in shape so I'm not too worried about that. You should have the respect to respond to your coach though.

Re: Landry is MIA
Landry is a dumbass and a pure 100% idiot. If the coach calls you call him back. It's called respect. If you don't show up to OTA'S I don't have a problem with that. But not calling back the head coach?? WTF??

Re: Landry is MIA
FO aside, this is precisely why we're a mediocre team. If you get a call from your employer, take it or return it to communicate you will/will not participate. It's called being a professional. It's that simple.
As for others on this thread who are in the know about Landry's 5-day-week workout, well, rock on that he's hitting the treadmill with other dudes, but it's not the same. He needs to be with his teammates who are taking the time and initiative to show up, to build a team, camaraderie, chemistry, mindset. And we're not talking about a $60k employee ditching calls from HR during a sick day, we're talking multi-millionaires with months off from the office. And yes, I know their bodies take a pounding... Sorry, Landry gets no pass from me, and I can give a rat's ass how Springs and ST used to handle this. I came up during the glory years, when Redskins with Super Bowl rings conducted their own voluntary workouts often b/4 Joe Gibbs even got out of bed. It worked out for them. Re: Landry is MIA
I'm pretty sure the Skins aren't the only team with players that skip out on voluntary workouts and don't return calls.

this was the crew missing from Dallas': K Nick Folk WR Travis Wilson WR Sam Hurd WR Miles Austin S Courtney Brown CB Mike Mickens FB Deon Anderson CB Terence Newman TE Rodney Hannah LB Justin Rogers LB Stephen Hodge LB Bradie James LB Victor Butler G Kyle Kosier OT Michael Turkovich WR Isaiah Stanback DT Tim Anderson DE Jason Hatcher (this was from their OTA last week) Really is a non-issue, In fact, I would agree with the sentiment that having all but one is a huge positive reflection on the FO. I just hope it all translates in the regular season. |

Re: Landry is MIA
The only problem I have is that its a team sport and everyone else is in DC and you know the players take notice of who did not show up.

If the latter is the case, then it would seem landry is being somewhat two-faced.

Re: Landry is MIA
Not everyone gave them a pass.

Re: Landry is MIA
True, but most people did because they were better players than Landry, and it showed on the field. LL hasn't fully shown what he can be and that's where the issue lies with me. He thinks he's great but he's just a good FS right now. The problem with LL is that he's on the borderline between good/great, but his work ethic seems to be lacking. Some guys just aren't motivated to be great, which is what it comes down to. The problem I have is that he hasn't shown up at all, and then not calling the coach back is BS. Someone said earlier, if DS called Landry would be sure to pickup his phone.
