Ryan just can't turn a new Leaf
Stealing drugs?! I thought he had a solid collegiate coaching career (football and golf) not to mention millions of dollars in bonus money from his rookie contract.
Drugs truly are the devil.

Re: Ryan just can't turn a new Leaf
Didn't sound like this was related to money so much as addiction. He didn't try and steal the guy's TV right? He was there for the Hydrocodon.
Addiction to legal painkillers is a serious problem in this country. Let's hope Ryan gets himself straightened up. I think it's easy to pile on here and make jokes, especially given what an asshole he was in the past, but it's sad to see someone who had appeared to have really stabilized his life veer so far of course. |

What, no dogging ryan leaf? oh yeah, lets feel sorry for him, since it's related to drugs, and only breaking and entering.

Re: Ryan just can't turn a new Leaf
When you have ACTUAL pain, it dulls it, or eliminates it. When you don't and take the pills, then it causes an addictive state. Yes, the more you take, the better the "buzz", even worse, when you mix it with other drugs, especially alcohol, the effect is intensified. It is VERY easy to get addicted.

As for the addiction, I'm not one to bash, I never did back in the day when Dexter Manley fell victim, over and over again. |

Now, I have a problem with the belief that there is a serious addiction problem in this country to these things, mainly because of the anti-marijuana ads we see. Total lies & falsehoods to get people who don't know any better to freak out & keep these things out of peoples hands. Now, when someone actually needs these things for actual pain, like 2 bulging discs at the base of my spine, they want to give my Ibuprophren to ease the pain. That doesn't really do anything. There was NO indication that I was addicted before because I really wasn't getting them from doctors like that, so unless I say something, they don't know. And I didn't, so they don't, so there is no reason why they would be so stingy when they can clearly see that people are in pain. That being said, this is clearly a case of addiction when you are stealing from others to get the drugs, regardless of what that drug is. I feel for him, because an addiction to this can be damning. It almost ruined a couple of my relationships, so I can relate to his problem. But he was an asshole, so I don't feel too bad for him. |
