He's definitly a HOF for what he has done, but I just don't think the Eagles would give up a franchise QB if he was still a franchise QB or to a division rival. |

We gave up a 2nd rounder and a possible 4th next year. Yes its worth it. A contract will be worked out. We are not giving up a pick next year if there isnt a chance of signing a longer contract.

The bummer about this whole deal is that we probably won't get squat for JC now. Then again, if we somehow got rid of him before this deal, then the Eagles might have been able to demand more for McNabb. |

Like you said, the only thing that changed is the trade actually happened. Perhaps people have had a chance to think about it and when reality sets in they realized it's a good move. How you can go from JC to McNabb and not like it is beyond me. |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
How can you say this? I didn't see any drop off in his play last year. 14 games 22 td's and 10 ints. Year before he put the team on his back and almost got them to the SB. This guy can still get it done. Plus they're going to give him a running game, somthing he's NEVER had in Philly. Philly's loss our gain. This could really come back and bite Philly in the ass.
I hope and pray your correct. Everytime I try to point out a good move people throw stats in my face. All I'm pointing out is we have a QB with similar stats on the roster right now that everyone is trying to get rid of. I'd prefer we got younger. Lastly we back to the win now attitude. I'll give you a point though. Shanahan did well with a 34 y/o Elway and went to the SB when people thought he was washed up. Again I hope and pray your right and Shanahan can work his magic with McNabb. |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Byron is Brian's brother and a reserve db on our team. A running joke every year is that Byron was on the team to give us a shadow of the Eagles offense.

I suspect that many who were against McNabb at the outset have no choice but to accept what's happened because we're Redskins fans and Donovan McNabb is now a Redskin. We have to deal with less picks in the draft than just about every team every single year. I'm sick of that, and it's not something I expected with Shanahan and Allen. Clearly, they aren't following the 'rebuild and suck it up for a year or two' rule. They are all in to win right now. I don't like the draft situation, but I'm betting they'll do all they can to trade down and pick up more as they go along. |

Lastly, Why did JC put up similar numbers if he's not a good, not as smart, worse OL, bad HC, and a very bad scheme? All I'm saying is take the whole picture in and look at it. Don't simply look at the fact that McNabb will be a HOF. McNabb was a franchise with the Eagles. McNabb used to be mobile. McNabb put up numbers.... but with better situation not that much better then JC for being 10 times better. I just feel we are getting rooked again. We just got snookered by Andy Reid. Jason Taylor ring a bell? I just hope after this year McNabb does not go back to the Eagles. |

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
At least McNabb has been there, done that. JC hasn't even been able to lead a team to the playoffs yet. Not saying that's totally his fault because it's not. But with Shanahan and McNabb, you have to feel much better about that vs. Zorn and Campbell.

So would you rather have Kolb or McNabb as your opening day starter with the Redskins?

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!
Ok,
So I have nearly vented the bad taste of this trade out. Now it's on to what else are you going to do. We still need 2 Tackles, plus depth. We have one pick in the first 2 days. As Bruce Allen said, the offseason doesn't end until Pre-season starts, so I will try to hope that there are plans to fill those gaps with quality players. If they can, then great, but this trade in isolation smells more like OldSkins than a new beginning. |
