I dont believe the NFL is suspending him for the incident itself.Rather he is being suspended because he pleaded guilty to a felony charge while he is an NFL player.Something about a character clause in the contract that says anything that they deem detrimental to the stature of the league can result in suspension and or fines.

I read somewhere that if the NFL wanted to they could ban him for life, not sure who it was or if it was true. Never going to happen, but it would be funny!

I would be surprised if he doesn't play on Sunday.

And no, Taylor is defintely not more of a concern. That would be like someone fearing Betts more than Portis.

Looks like the suspension won't even start until the 24th. Seems weird to suspend a guy and put the suspesion in the future huh?

This will be a real test for our run defense. If we can hold Jamal in check, we should be able to win the game.

I think they will be able to shut down Lewis and force them to pass. If anythign what im really hoping is that our offense finally gets their act together and lights it up so they have to pay to TRY and come back from behind.

If we stop Jamal Lewis, theres no doubt in my mind we will win this game. Baltimore's passing game is pitiful. They have no dangerous recivers, except for Todd Heap @ TE but hes out anyways. Our Corners should shut these guys down completley, plus Boller has trouble throwing the ball even if they are open.

FYI NFL.com says he faces a 2 week suspension and 4 weeks salary fine, all due with effect from 14th October, but if he appeals, the ban would start 18th (curious how they say even after appeal he starts the ban - worded as if there's no chance of the appeal working!).

Personally, considering what he did, I thik he got off lightly. It should be a 4-6 week ban at least. And why should the authorities bow to him serving in the off season? How many convicted criminals get to chose when they start their sentence?

A) He's not convicted (not to the hefty charges), and B) all the famous ones... that is, all the famous ones that actually go to jail...

but its not totally unheard of, if you can make a case that it'd be in the interests of the public good, courts will at least listen... here he gets to choose because its part of the plea... otherwise he goes to trial against a weak case at best...
