Cousins is really helping the offense and the offense is better around him as well.

I think Kirk is developing and I hope he gets where we need him to be by the time we're ready to win big.
Yeah I was saying the plateau is 7-9 and 8-8 max with cousins. I would take that this year for sure.

8-8 Would be a great year for what we have been through! i can see this team being very good with another offseason under us..and if cousins does not work out we can always go after a FA QB ..

I hope Kirk's ceiling is higher than 8-8. I think he could improve enough to QB a contender. With a much better team around him two years from now, I think we could start to have consistent winning seasons. We might even have a winning record next season if we're lucky.

Kirk is good enough right now to to start on this team, so we should be able to find out soon enough if he has the right stuff. If and when it becomes apparent to the GM and HC that he isn't the right man for the job, I'm confident that they'll make a change.

I'm not an optimist by nature but I am quite confident that Kirk Cousins will develop into a QB more than capable of leading this team into the playoffs and beyond.

I'm sure we all hope you're right, Davy. We really need a stalwart at the QB position.

BTW, would you happen to be the crazy Redskins fan who was wearing a blow-up Redskins helmet and a Skins jersey while waving a Redskins banner who I saw on TV at the most recent NFL game in London? I'm not quite sure which answer I'm hoping to receive.

I can't speak for anyone else. I have given each opponent the the credit I think they deserve. I thought we matched up quite well with all the opponents we've faced thus far. So when some people were throwing their hands up saying we can't beat the Falcons I wasn't one of them. That's not how I view a team. I try to look objectively at each team we face and think about the ways we can come out with a W. And they better have a solid game plan and come to play because its going to tough.

Imo the Jets are the toughest team we've faced thus far; that is not to say I don't think we can win. The 2 thoughts are mutually exclusive.

I know many in this forum have chest puffing disdain for advanced stats but Football Outsider's rates the Jets defense as #2 overall #5 vs the pass and #1 vs the run. And before you excuse away their rankings FBO accounts for the strength of the competition better then raw defense stats like yards allowed or points allowed. Then you look at their personnel and coaching. Both are very good.

Revis and Cromartie can't cover EVERYONE. Going to be a lot of underneath throws and hopefully they don't have the LB tackling that Atlanta did. Every time we caught an underneath ball, it feel like our guys went down instantly.

No, that wasn't me, but if the Redskins ever do come to Wembley I'll be there looking equally ridiculous.

I read somewhere that the Skins are one of the candidates to play in London next season!

Which is why our ST and D have to put us in good field position, force turnovers, and a score would be great. Its how the Eagles beat them. Bradford did not turn it over and Matthews ran for over 100.

I'm ok with "OK" this year. After all I don't think most predictions had this team winning more than 4-5 games. So if they end up with 7-9 wins, that is a success and something to build on.

Every single 'good to great' QB in the history of the game required time to become just that. They needed the opportunity to learn from their mistakes, and patience from everyone around them to allow the whole team to grow together. For some QBs and some teams it happened faster than others...this guy has had a total of five games as the anointed starter, with the benefit of taking all the starter repetitions, working with the 1s, etc.

Whether you choose to see it or not, this team is getting better and is growing together. There's a ton of new faces in the starting lineups - some by design, and some due to multiple injuries to 1st and 2nd stringers. It's a testament to Scot M. for bringing the right guys in, and it's a testament to the coaching staff for putting it all together on Sundays.

While Kirk has been great at times and not so great at times, I believe the team is much better with him behind center, and has a pretty high ceiling. The overall health of the team has been the bigger issue to me, rather than Kirk's inconsistency. I'm not going to predict the playoffs this year, but it's not out of the question given the state of the NFC East. I will say that as of this week there are less than five teams in the entire league that I feel this team cannot beat if they put together their A game.

I really like Grant. I can't believe a receiver actually took the blame for something.

Its when they get paid and host their own reality show that you want to see them taking the blame.
In all seriousness I dont think we can blame him for falling down? Glad he got his qb's back though. Classy move for sure.
