Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
This team has no chance with Heinicke as the QB. If they go into next season with him as starter Rivera screwed up. Watson has too much baggage for a baggage laden organization like WFT to touch. WFT has to keep taking shots at QB until it hits on one.

linebacker news: Jamin Davis only played one snap on defense yesterday - looks like mike is gonna be another need this offseason and Davis/Holcomb will be primarily on the outside next season. What does that mean for Collins? TBD.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Point is there aren't many viable options. QB is not going to be good next year regardless. Unless they sell the farm for a veteran, however all of the "available" ones have issues.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Ridder seems to be the one with the best physical ability. Good size, can throw a long, hard pass, leadership skills. I admit he is an unfinished product and will take two years to develop him. But to me at least I see the potential for him to be a really good QB with proper development. Now that raises the bigger issue: do we have the staff to develop him properly? I would say "no." But if we had a QB guru on staff, Ridder to me is the one who can be developed into a top flight QB.

I agree with this, I think he has the most upside of any QB in this draft. He’s also sneaky athletic and can move around well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
We don’t know how good Pickett or Willis or Ridder will be.
Nobody thought Josh Allen or Justin Herbert would be this good. You can’t just say “there isn’t any great QBs in this draft” you have to keep picking one until you find that Gem. Picketts issue is the gloves which he wears because he has small hands and they help grip the ball better. That is a concern but not the end of the world.. Joe Burrow has small hands too but he’s doing just fine.

https://www.profootballnetwork.com/i...istorical-data "Some reports have Pickett’s hand size at around 8.25 inches, while others tell of a figure slightly under 8. Whatever the case, this isn’t your usual hand size discussion. This is legitimate uncharted territory. A historical comparison — using data provided by resident RAS guru Kent Lee Platte — shows just how far off the map we are. Over the past 37 seasons, 650 quarterbacks have registered hand measurements, either at combines or pro days. Of those 650 quarterbacks, Pickett would have the third-smallest hands of the group with his reported measurements. Only Tony Lowery (7.63 inches) and Doug Hudson (7.25 inches) had smaller. Divide it up, and Pickett’s hands are smaller than 99.6% of all hand measurements on record over that range. He’s in the 0.4th percentile." That is a pretty big cause of concern imo, especially since the NFL ball is slightly larger than NCAAF. He's older too. He will be 24 by next season. So he should be ahead of other guys right now. But other guys will probably be better in a couple years.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Strong of Nevada has declared for the draft. He may be the kind of guy that will sneak up some draft boards. Problem is he really isn't mobile at all.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Then no thanks. An NFL QB today must have some mobility to move around. Does not have to be Tarkenton, but he can't be the type who sits in the pocket like a dead duck.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
Burrow isn't very mobile, Brady is a slug.. It's an added bonus but not a huge factor

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
If you look at Strong drop back and throw the ball, you could argue he is the best guy in the draft in those areas. Elite arm talent and accuracy is not in question at all.

Re: The Too Soon 2022 NFL Draft Thread
I haven't watched much on him, but for any QB if the arm talent and decision making abilities are there, he can get away with not being mobile in the NFL.
