comments like this are driving me crazy. Read the story.

HE DID NOT GET DUPED.

HE SAID HE MET HER.

HE SAID HE TALKED TO HER ON THE PHONE EVERY NIGHT.

HE LIED.

Sorry for the large font, and bold text, but people keep making comments that conflict what is KNOWN to have actually happened.

Pretty sure I read even his father talked to this woman on the phone. Right after Te'o's grandmother died.

Sooo. I'm guessing Te'o made one of his guy friends talk like a woman?

He most likely lied because he's embarrassed to tell the whole country that was committed to some girl that he's never met. Think about that. Do you know how silly that sounds? I'm not saying he's not involved in the hoax or anything, just reflecting that many people are duped and are embarrassed about it. I mean, would you tell your friends you were in love with a girl you've never met? My guess is you'd lie and say you met her as well.
