Goes to show what having a bona fide superstar can do for your psyche ... I know RG3 had two straight 4 TD games but I am wondering what his ceiling is. Any chance he goes off for 5 or 6 tds in a game this year? No doubt he will do it at some point in his career, but I am curious to see if he could do it as a rookie. Wins are the most important stat but still...

I would say the only way this could happen is if we had a stronger defense and better special teams. RG3 would need multiple opportunities starting on "short fields" cause by our d getting turnovers and our return guys breaking long returns. So probably not, plus Kyle and Shanny are continuely to feed the ball to Alfmo, which is a positive the offense isnt entirely on his shoulders.

Got to disagree. All it takes is for RGIII to recognize an exploitable D formation and the WR's to run the right routes. We've already seen what the long bomb can do. If he can put up 28 in a Qtr he can potentially do to someone what the Eagles did to us that time.

I don't believe this is predicated on Kyle/Dad reining RGIII in. If the ball is there then he will launch it. We'll see a 50+ point game this season, probably the next Eagles game.

RG3's best chances to put up those kinds of numbers in his rookie season may come against the Cowboys or the Eagles. He had solid games against both of these teams a few weeks ago so he's capable of duplicating that success.

Great read! I hope Kyle does extend with us. This offense has so much potential and it confuses the hell out of defenses. Love it!

I also came away from this article impressed with Paulsen. In particular, his observation of how the offense has developed under Kyle seems spot on: “He’s growing the offense,” Paulsen said of Shanahan. “He’s kind of the gardener for this team. He’s done a great job of making sure that we’re ready to go and that we’re in a great position to be successful each week, which is really special.”

I don't think I have ever heard anyone refer to a football coach as a gardener -- but it does seem an apt analogy.
