Re: Report: Fred Davis, Trent Williams suspended four games
What we learned about the Redskins in Week 13
By: John Keim | 12/05/11 8:05 PM Examiner Staff Writer | Follow him @john_keim » One thing that will be missed as much as anything with Fred Davis suspended? Yards gained after the catch. Davis is third among NFL tight ends with 296 yards after the catch, which leads Redskins receivers and tight ends by a wide margin (running back Roy Helu has 315). The other nine Redskins wideouts and tight ends have combined for 409 yards after the catch. Davis qualified as their best playmaker, but his foolishness cost him and the Redskins' offense. » Trent Williams should not be a captain. If you're going to put your own interests above those of your teammates, then it's difficult to ask them to follow you. And multiple failed drug tests suggest that's what he has done. Williams' last three games have been his best, and he showed up this season in excellent shape. But if he wants to be an elite player, missing four games is not the way to get there.
