That's a bit of over simplification isn't it? I thought it was an aging faulty fleet without a timely and funded replacement program was what doomed our ability to get people to space. The real issue here is money...no money, no shuttle. I mean, you have the house reducing the funding requested by Obama for 2012 by 2 billion as part of their austerity measure. It's kinda sad that we don't have a reusable space ferry.
