Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
You are right. I would add that the whole team is playing hard. We have much more of a lunch pail attitude than in the last few years. Preseason scores do not count but that part matters.

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
I dont see how Hightower is not the starter. Personally blown away by how great he has been in this system. Damn, Shanny really showing off his ability to get solid RBs once again that excel in his system. That freakin cut back last night got me off the couch last nite night spilling my West Coast IPA in the process. See SS, when I name drop, its good beers name dropping

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
Agreed. I think royster makes it over him. I also think sellers is done.

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
Right now, Hightower is the starter hands down with Torain battling it out with Helu for number two. It's tough cause of injuries but he who performs plays, and Helu has performed so far.

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
Quote:
Kyle Shanahan to SI regarding Tim Hightower: He’s a violent runner. He runs as hard as he can, gets to the line of scrimmage, and presses his cuts. And when he puts his foot down, it’s violent, and he’s getting downhill. He always gets tackled with his shoulders going north. He’s exactly what we look for in this offense… On grass with us, I think he can be an every-down back. Because he’s definitely a first- and second-down runner, and he also has good hands, and he’s fearless when it comes to blocking. He understands our pass schemes and he’s got a chance to be a guy who doesn’t come off the field. It might take a while for him to make the transition to us, but it’s always going to be a faster transition when you’ve got a guy who doesn’t flinch. He’s not scared to put his face into anyone, and he’s smart and he works at it. I think he’ll be able to do it.

I'm thinking that Torain may need to go on IR. I can't imagine how painful it would be for him to take a hard hit on his hand right now. Could he hold onto the ball? I assume that catching a pass right now would be difficult for him, as well. |

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
Per Chris Russell: Ryan Torain says "progress is good" When asked if target was Tampa, final preseason game, he said "Yeah, definitely".

Interesting that more are leaning that Torrain might not make the team, I think he will. Let's see if he gets on the field vs. Tampa.

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
I do think Torain will make the team over Royster. But he's the no. 3 back behind Helu and Hightower, and I think he'll be inactive on gamedays but for an injury.

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
Is it really that crazy? Torain as we know is hurt, again. Royster is basically the same kind of back.
Not saying it's going to happen, but it wouldn't shock me. |

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
I'm fine with Torrain not making the team, just to be clear. But I guess I underestimated his injury a bit and expected him to be in the lineup. That said, I would be surprised if he didn't make the final roster.

Re: Redskins-Colts Gameday Thread.
Honestly I don't care if ATV is there, Hightower and Helu are our future RB tandem for a few years. Plus Torain is always injured

helu will be the #3 to start i imagine cause he's pass blocking is beyond awful right now. if KW is the 3DRB, protection is probably the reason. I think all of them catch pretty well. |
