Lindsay Czarniak Headed to ESPN

There are 100s of sportscaster who apply to be on ESPN, many of whom are stunningly gorgeous, that don't get hired.. But that's not the defining precedent for making a hire. It's a television medium so clearly looks do play a factor but it's pretty insulting to Lindsay and Sara, etc. to say they are hired simply on looks.

I don't have a problem if they would hire by looks. Hell, I'd perfer if they did.

I would watch nothing but telemundo and univision if you could put a SAP conversion to english or at least let you put english captions on it.

Nah, the world is full of hot women. If I am gonna invest time watching something, I need more than just hot. I need someone who is capable.

Agreed. She's quite good at her job. She's also luscious but that is the lesser part. I wouldn't watch her if she were only luscious. Maybe she's next in line to head to ESPN.

While I don't know as much as you from the inside of espn obviously, as a viewer I agree that it's an insult to say that espn's female broadcasters are hired w/looks as a primary reason. I think we're well beyond the era of having token women in sports journalism, there seem to be a lot of them out there that clearly know the subject matter & are really good at what they do. I think the firing of Ron Franklin also showed that espn isn't tolerating the old boy ways & is committed to equality.

Also, to your point; Hannah Storm, Dana Jacobsen, Linda Cohn & some others are all nice-looking but are clearly not swimsuit model hot. They are all very good at what they do, so much so that I really haven't even thought about female sports journalists being lesser in the way they do the job, until this was brought up today!
