Re: 2011 NFL Draft
This Kaepernick kid is the talk of sports radio in OKC, and Dallas.. I guess he may be moving up the boards fast.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
You have to realize why don't you? It's because of me. I started talking about Von Miller awhile ago and he starts climbing the boards. Now I'm high on Kaepernick and he is rising up draft boards. I guess I need to keep my picks on the DL or we won't get any good picks. lol.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I want Nothing to do with Kaepernick, he's got awful accuracy and can't read defenses.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I agree, AJ Green or Patrick Peterson's Wonderlic matters very little to almost nothing. Though it does make you wonder how they the necessary SAT scores to get into college if they don't test well. But I think there's definitely some strong evidence to show that it matters with quarterbacks. This article does a pretty good job of laying it out -
A Formula For Drafting QBs That Works: Rule of 26-27-60 - Hogs Haven And re: Bradshaw, Kelly, Cunningham, etc My guess is that the Wonderlic wasn't generally perceived to matter in those days, so when stud qb's like Marino and Bradshaw got presented with a bubble test, they probably didn't pay it much attention. These days it matters, and preparing for the Wonderlic as a qb is now a part of the draft preparation, including tutors and practice sessions. Much worse to score low on a test you've prepared for and that you know is important than when you don't think it matters. |

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Bradshaw is not the type of QB you want to point to as to why the Wonderlic doesn't mater. If anything his career numbers validate the importance of the Wonderlic.

Just because you're still bitter about pineapple jesus getting the boot doesn't mean you have to sour things for everyone else. And unlike most of the other QB's in the draft that you probably like, Kaepernick has the speed and athleticism to bootleg out and around a breakdown on the play or if he can not read the defense correctly. You can learn to read defenses. You can't learn speed and athleticism. He's got his head on straight, hard worker, someone is going to get a steal in the draft. I hope it is us. If we draft Kaepernick I'm changing my username KaepKrusader.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
I guess we are going to wind up having to trade up back into the first round to get Kaepernick. He won't go top 10 though IMO. I can see him as a mid to late first round after it all settles. These draft gurus get high on someone then low on them. They go up and down the draft boards like a horse on a merry-go-round. I would love to get this kid.
Or with all the talk about teams rumored to be wanting to trade up, trade down and use the mid to late round 1st on him. Then we have a lot more ammo to go get other holes to fill. I'm excited for the draft even if owners and players can't get their heads out their @$$es.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
KaepKrusader, what have you seen or heard about this kid that made you change your mind. For the past couple of months you made no apologies about Miller then Hudson with the second rd.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft
Does that say anything about the relationship of "the numbers" and winning?
