Re: D Hall stepping up as a leader?
This is definitely not Hall's defense, there's still Orakpo and Fletcher to consider.. However, there's no questions that Hall's becoming a leader.. There was even an article explaining that Shanahan had a meeting wtih Hall, and asked him to be a leader..
And not to mention, Hall looks like he bulked up a little bit, and improved his playings.. I hope he is having a pro-bowl season this year, it would help our defense lot.. Our front 7 looked good yesterday, pressuring Schuab almost whole game.. And our secondary didn't look good.. But we need to remember that The defense only played two games together with tthe new schemes and all.. We need to give it some time for the guys to understand everything and hopefully, the team will click and play lights out.. |

Still corners are getting danerously close in personallity to their wide reciever counterparts. Actually if anything they've surpassed them. Part of that might be because a new breed of receiver has emerged. I rarely hear T.O like quotes from Andre, Calvin, Fitz, Boldin, and Wayne, even our own Santana stays quiet. We also saw Randy Moss not lowering himself to trash talk when Revis called him a slouch. All the while it seems like more and more trash talk is coming from corners these days. I kind of like that Hall wants to do this, but he probably could have gone about it more tactfully. You don't really need people to know this on Monday, rather let the week develop so by the time the game rolls around on Sunday the announcers know and inform everybody watching. Then again how about we just go do it without any talk. Send them on a Hall-iday without making a big fuss to the media.

If a coach has to call a player into a meeting to ask the player to become a leader, the odds of that player becoming an effective leader are slim. General Eisenhower did not need to call General Patton to his tent to ask General Patton to be a leader...

You are correct.. Out of all players, I would not have expected Shanahan talked to Hall about being a leader.. However, sometimes, some players need someone to push them outside their comfortable zone and be the one.. But then, that doesn't mean it will work out great.. |
