So I was trying to figure out if women were more emotionally attached to children then men were. One of the answers really stood out to me and it went as follows:

Yes, they are, on average. From a biological perspective, it probably has something to do with the fact that a woman can make at most one baby per year, whereas men can theoretically make as many as they want. Hence women have a lot more invested in their kids' survival. Because of that, women have different hormonal balances to make sure they care for their kids, etc.

Obviously, it does not always work like that, but on average there are differences between men and women, and fathers and mothers. Also, in other species such as certain birds, fathers may be just as or more caring than mothers.

In reading that I thought wow, that sounds like something I would have written. This person sounds a lot like me.

I'm a female-to-male transsexual and my wife is a male-to-female transsexual and we have a 22mo son together. I was gone for months driving a truck while our son was only 3-8 months old and my wife stayed at home with the baby... obviously, we're one of those exceptions.
