Re: Other Teams Cuts to 53

CB Marcus McCauley was cut by Vikings...

Wasn't he a stud college CB & drafted in 1st or 2nd round in 2007 or so?

Also... some decent LBs are being cut around the league... I wonder what we do there as well.

Russell's conventional numbers are going to improve a lot as the Raiders offense around him improves, but he has Culpepper-like fumbling ability without the ability to complete passes down the field that Daunte had.

Basically, until you see his completion percentage tip 62%, he remains a bust there.

I'd be all for picking up Pashos.

As far as affordability goes, you'd think that just about anyone would be cheap at this point. Unless several teams are interested, players now have no leverage. They sign for cheap or they don't play and earn zero.

Well I understand it's only preseason but if your criteria holds up then he's off to a good start with a 66.7% completion in 4 preseason games. Again only preseason but promising none the less. Russell might be another guy I judged to early (a la Mario Williams).

I'll say it again Matt Bryant was cut by the Buc's, and he's a great kicker. Also I'll take Levi Jones or Tony Pasho's over dAnthony batiste, mike williams, chad rinehart, and maybe even stephon heyer anyday.

Re: Other Teams Cuts to 53

Brian Williams cut by Jacksonville as well. The guy would be a fantastic option as a nickel corner.

I don't know this for certain but they say that Williams has lost a step or two or three.

His numbers were down last season, but the same thing happened to Springs when he was injured. I don't think Williams is done, I just think the Jaguars mishandled him by making him play both corner and safety last year.

Could be. When the Jags signed him he was quite fine corner.

He has been hurt all preseason with a hamstring injury and has not been able to kick.
