I think Goat was talking about hearing positive news in general. Yes it is the Redskins blog and they are going to put a positive spin to everything, but it is good to know in general that Malcolm Kelly is practicing at full speed or that Samuels is back and healthy. Personally for once it is nice to discuss real news about OTAs, and not discussing speculations, theories, and/or other topics that have been discussed to death (i.e. QB).

I'm really happy for the battle at RT; so sure, maybe we don't have 3 pro bowlers battling it out, but we have 3 guys who seem hungry doing that work. That really can't do anything more than to make whoever earns it that much better.

Re: Redskins June 2009 OTAs

I really am getting nervous about the amount of time Orakpo is spending at SLB. I guess this is how a newly wed wife would feel about her husband going out to a strip club with his buddies. Sure it's not cheating but still

Anyway at the very least I hope they're planning on using some offset 4-3 looks with Orakpo lined up outside of Daniels as that would at least get him a chance to come off the edge.

Something like this

Lol, it's like Malcolm Kelly broke his right leg today but thats ok because at least he didn't break his other leg.

Redskins.com:Team unprepared, demoralized at OTA's.

The Redskins, as they usually do, seemed to take an unenthusiatic approach to their offseason work.

Said left tackle Chris Samuels, who once again is coming back from injury, "I've lost seven to ten pounds of muscle. It's OK, though. I'll maybe get some of it back."

On the other side of the ball, rookie Brian Orakpo weighed in with his thoughts on the upcoming year, "It's a totally different atmoshpere up here than it was in college. At Texas, every day felt like building towards something. Here they all just seem to blend together."

and Coach Zorn was caught freebasing in the bathroom. I guess that would explain why he pounds his fist on the podium?

If you are joking then you have taken the sarcasm of the previous post to a very impressive level. Well done.

If you are being serious I'm not sure what to say?

Re: Redskins June 2009 OTAs

Here's todays write up from Reskins.com. I found it interesting that Largent had to stop the WR's practice to talk to them and give them pointers. Pretty bad when an outsider sees the players doing something that could be fixed and has to call a halt to their practice to tell them and the positions coach failed to do so. Wait we are talking about Stan "The Man" Hixon.

Has there ever been a problem with a Congressman having a second job? Would it be illegal for DS to hire Largent as the position coach? lol. While he a Congressman?

On The Field For OTAs, Along With Steve Largent

Edit: Also every time I see the WR's Williams and Mitchell I get excited at how tall they are. I hope they both could work out for us and maybe push for Thrash's job. I know, I know, The team will only keep 5 active and on PS ....maybe. So you have Moss, ARE, Thomas, Kelly, and maybe they could keep them as endzone threats for the red zone.

I agree. We made the mistake of having Jason Taylor play out of position last season. This could be another situation of trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. (gotta love cliches)

Take a good look at Mitchell's legs in that photo. I'm not sure if they ever allowed a Stork to play in the NFL before? If that guy doesn't get his leg broken in about thirty two places before preseason ends it will be a miracle.

haha good point but any non injury/holdout news is good news at this point. And also, it is better than if Zorn or one of the coaches said something to the effect of "we are still trying to get him caught up" or "oh...he was able to go out there and run around" about the wr's or the o'line.

the fact that all the news out of the OTAs is solid is a positive...
