You dont cut a veteran lke Jansen during OTA's and mini-camps, you cut him at or near the end of training camp, but not in May.

My thought when I first saw it was "June 1st cap casualty". Players released before June 1st, the team is able to save the cap hit in the current NFL year, but take that hit the following year.

If that is the case, Vinny must really believe that next yr there will be no caps..
