Why don't we actually read the story in the Washington Times?

H.D. Woodson alum Byron Leftwich has agreed to a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He left offers from Pittsburgh (he was a Steelers backup QB last year) and the Redskins (offered the veteran minimum last weekend) on the table.

Leftwich wants to start the Bucs give him the best chance. Josh McCown is the only candidate to start. In Pittsburgh, Ben Roethlisberger is the franchise starter; with the Redskins, Jason Campbell is the starter and Leftwich probably figured Jim Zorn would be patient with Campbell.

There aren't a lot of veterans on the market so the Redskins might be forced to stick with Todd Collins as the back up and Colt Brennan as the third stringer entering camp.

But there's one thing that could change the complexion of everything.

His name is Mark Sanchez.

If he's still on the board at No. 13, will Dan Snyder -- who tried to deal Campbell last week to Denver for Jay Cutler -- choose the USC passer and start over (again)?

It's possible. I don't think Sanchez will be on the board when the Redskins pick. San Francisco and Denver should have an interest.

Doesn't sound too firm huh?

If we don't have who we want on board at 13 I'd be open to trading to let the Broncos have their 12th AND the 13th and us picking up the 18th and 48th or so, a lil more to us on the "value chart" and still gives us the chance of picking up a good guy, though at 18 you're starting to get to the end of the first round talent, I guess I'd have to ask some of you guys that value the college players whether it'd be better or indifferent to have an 18th or say a 23rd.
