Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
All I have to say is thank God for Shawn Springs. I was ready to start a thread about Ladell Betts.
I don't believe that his forward progress was stopped for long enough to blow the whistle. Ladell did a horrible job of covering up the ball before contact. I can' believe that when you know the defense intends to try to strip you, you allow it to happen. I'm still beside myself. |

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
To me that was as bad a play as Springs will make and it took a perfectly executed pass and catch to do it. That throw was Hasselbeck's best all day. He was beat bya step inside but he wasn't beat enough for it to eb a catch and run and with most QBs that play has a 10% chance of working. Not trying to rationalize but you do have to consider how good a play it was.

Titans tripped today. Yeah. I just wish the Giants would trip more.

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
It was, he was all over him and Branch just made a great catch. By the way, I believe Springs is older than Branch by 4 years.

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
I'm really hoping for a miracle next wk, I think we'll play our best ball of the season, Considering the Taylor tribute and everything, I also think we match up pretty well with them, I mean if Springs was on buress in that 1st game we very well could've won they only scored 16 we have to find a way to get to eli and protect Campbell. The Campbell draw option could come in real handy GO SKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
On the realistic note, it's pretty sad that we can only beat a 2-8 team by 3 points. Top competitors have been crushing this team. I wince about next week.

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
Simple game plan for next week... stack the box and play man coverage. Our secondary is playing really good now with Springs back and Hall getting more comfortable. The Giants three-pronged attack (hopefully Jacobs will still be out) is tough. Eli's spreading the ball around, so look to limit FB and TE catches.

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
I am going to say this one time and I have said any many times before. Betts is garbage. For all those who before the beginning of the season said we should trade Portis take your foot out your mouth now!!
Betts is garbage. He hasn't done squat this year. CP is the man and Tip Toe, Rock and Betts together can't equal CP. We should have kept Mason. If we get a chance. We better pick him back up at the end of the season and still pick up someone very late in the draft or in free agency and let Betts go. This is not just because he fumble but because he sucks..He had one good year he is overrated and we wasted a good opportunity not trading him when he was playing good behind a good offensive line and people thought he was a hot commodity (and I dont want to hear anything about him being injured because Portis jsut came of injury too). Let the hating begin.... HTTR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO SKINS!!!!!!

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
We've got to stop the running game next week against the Giants. Their three RB are destroying teams every week.
On any given Sunday, a team can win. |

I am sure the Gmen will do this too. And remember....we need to score to win. Revenge would be sweet...but looking at the teams we barely beat and the ones that stomped on us...it is just not a good pattern to look forward to. I am just trying to be objective here. It is easily the least likely game to win the rest of the season...and it may even be more difficult that our first playoff game...assuming we make it.

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
he still should have went down. The purpose is to run out the clock not to try and score...He wasn't down. Maybe they should have stopped it for forward progress maybe not. But eitehr way he wasn't down and it was a fumble. Protect the freaking ball.

Re: The official Skins/Seahawks game thread
The reason the Cowboys and the Seahawks were able to run on the Skins is because of the defensive alignment. The Redskins lineup four defensive linemen, head to head accross the offensive front and drop the three linebackers 5-7 yards deep straight back of the line. That creates a natural seam off tackle and that's were team are exploiting the Skins against the run. The Skins need to make an adjustment to counter this. If not, the Giants are going to run all over them.
