Re: The Washington Capitals Playoff Stretch Run Thread

Not sure how playing hockey at a .600 clip since Thanksgiving is considered lucky...

Since February 1, the Caps are 17-7-3, which is about the same level that the Pens have played at (18-7-4). They have 2 quality goaltenders with playoff experience to run the gauntlet, and they have this season's best player (if not the best player in the league). This is going to be one tough hombre once they make the playoffs...

Ok, I am not a pens fan at all (note the Bruins comment), nor do I care about the Caps, however, didn't the Pens do almost the same as the caps but without their SUPERSTUD Crosby?

True dat!!! And that is from a Bruins fan. So, that just goes to support my logic that now that the PENS have their SUPERSTUD SID THE KID back along with the underrated Evgeni Malkin the PENS will dominate the playoffs. All I know is that if I was a NHL team thinking about getting in to the playoffs, I wouldn't want to play the PENS!!! GO PENS!!!

That's true...I know I don't want my Bruins to face the Pens. I know we don't "really" have a shot, but you never know...hey the Giants won the Super Bowl, anything is possible!!!! (except of course the Wizards beating the Celtics in the eastern conference! hahaha)

Hey, hey, hey, now I know that Boston is in fact the best team in the Eastern Conference but they haven't dominated the Wizards all season long, it's been a good series so far and if Boston and the Wiz met in the playoffs I don't think it would be a quick sweep. I'm far more worried about facing the Cavs in the playoffs, they have always had our number there and if we want to be a great team we gotta be able to compete with them. I'm not trying to get offtopic here though so w/e.

And great game by the Caps tonight, we came out strong in the first and there wasn't much happening in the second, but Ovie and the crew stepped up in the third to seal the win for us. All we gotta do is beat the Panthers and get a little help from either Philly/Boston/Carolina and we'll be in. I have to say I really hope Boston loses tomorrow night so we can take the 7th seed, that would be great because we wouldn't have to play the Pens in the first round.

And don't forget we are not out of this thing for Southeast division title. If the Cans LOSS tonight. We WIN Saturday, we take the Southeast title....go Panthers tonight in NC.

Without Crosby, but with Malkin, who happens to be the 2nd in points in the League right now. The Pens have incredible talent (8588 - stop saying Malkin is underrated...), but the Caps are playing the same level of hockey with what the critics and experts consider inferior talent.

The Caps poured it on last night. The interference call was pretty bad, but in the end, 2 from Ovie and the Caps won nonetheless. Huet had a stellar game after giving up that early goal. Things are moving along. One more win...
