Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G

Greg Novis has given me some inside information, the Skins will have OCHO CINCO and all the Bengas are asking for in return is Brandon Lloyd and a 3rd round draft pick.

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G

A lot of this sounds great on paper, but I just think we can do better for cheaper. I would love seing him play for us, just because he brings a spark like Clinton does. But, with the draft coming, and our other needs, I don't think we need an established big name WR. I want him here, but not if it's going to cost us a high pick, or big money.

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G

the bengals are on crack if they want lloyd and that may be an untenable cap hit between the release and CJ's new contract, so i'm not sure i can believe that as legit inside info.

i guess we'll see though.

I think with all of the coaching problems up in the air, I dont see it happening this year. Even if we could get him, i don't think we will have enough time to focus on it.

They need to televise the meetings between Rosenhaus, Snyder and CJ.

That would be very entertaining.

YES! I said the exact same thing at the end of the season. WR's are really exciting and everything, but people tend to get caught up in the hype too easily. If your QB doesn't have time, your WR's cant get open, and you can't complete down field passes. I like the idea of a bigger WR just as much as anyone, but realistically I think we'd be better off bolstering our lines.

If thats true, all the bengals want is Brandon Lloyd and a third pick i would do that in a heart beat, then we could use our first picks on CB and Dline. With Joe Buegle still on our staff i dont believe we need to spend a top pick on oline, he can coach any player to be great. Oh, and did i mention Brandon loyd is trash? Im surprised teams would even give up a 5th or a 6th for him...

Actually, I was listening to NFL Radio yesterday and they were saying that it is a $6 million cap hit for the Bengals to unload Johnson this season. However, they'll get the money back he would have made in salary, $2.8 million. Therefore, they would only be taking a $3.2 million cap hit next season, then he'd be off the books.

NOTE: I may have the $2.8 and $3.2 backwards, it could be a $2.8 cap hit with a salary of 3.2, but either way, it's not that much of a difference.

As big of a headache for the Bengals as Chad is becoming in Cincy, I think that $3 million (split the difference) is not that big of a hit.

Uh, yeah, right.. Do we get draft rights to the Easter Bunny and Tooth Fairy as well?

Seriously, I don't see him coming here under Fassel. He's more of a disciplinarian who doesn't put up with a bunch of foolishness.

Who is Greg Novis? And why would the Bengals trade for someone that will most likely get cut anyways?

Ocho Stinko is a "GREAT" team addition? Not hardly IMO. The guy is a double edged blade talented on the field, yes. Also a nut case, time bomb waiting to explode. NO THANKS

FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Johnson still making news for wrong reasons

At least he hasn't "accidentally" overdosed on painkillers.

i meant for the skins. it's 7mill to ditch lloyd and then it'll be at least 3mill for the severely backloaded CJ contract here, (1mill + SB/years of contract).

Re: Ocho Cinco In B&G

I would rather be paying someone to play then to sit on the bench. I would also rather they not get hurt easily. They already have "Who's your mama." All they need is a #2 or #3 WR. So having said that .....Geez, I don't know if this is a good deal for us or not? I mean Lloyd is one of the best WR out there and the only reason he didn't play was because he got injured. He's all better now and not a locker room problem. He always made those clutch catches also. Name another WR out there who has his speed and hands. No don't because you all know he's the best at what he does! I sure hope no Bengals come over to our site and start getting ideas about taking Lloyd from us. I hope DS does not take this deal. ; )
