Re: Cut List

Backup OL? Looks disasterous should the interior need even a breather on the sidelines. Cut Pino,Lefotu.... Kept Molinaro and that worthless bum Walter. Ndukwe at backup G. Pucillo at center .Great....

Did we keep Broughton??
What purpose would that serve. And cut TE Ortega leaving us with 2 TE's and some non-sense I have heard of Sellers playing TE if needed.

How many backs do we need. CP, Betts, TJ, Rock, and BROUGHTON??

Unfortunately the guy I want most to stay would be Killings but that DL is so stacked with 9 other players. Killings was cool, I think he could have made more strides with us. Killings gets cut and not Boschetti?? Really??, Killings brings a big body, more physical, quicker, and makes plays in the more time he has seen.

DL-Healthy they should do the damn thing.
Carter, Danils,Wynn,Salavae,Griff,Evans, Mont-?, Golst-? Boschetti-? Seems Killings got robbed of a spot.

LB is dangerously thin to me.
Wash., Mc, Hold, Posey, Marsh, Khary,
is that it? We cut Simon, McCune-shame., Havner I cant think of who I am missing.

DB's I have to say I am pleased with all but the reality that Battle couldnt hang and got cut. That means an extra spot for Doughty.
Springs,Rog, Wright, Jimoh, Rumph,Fox,Prioleau,Taylor,Arch, and REED.
Looks pretty good to me. Stay healthy and we stay fined tuned.

It stills seems like the overgrowing concern on both sides of the ball will be our OL/DL which health, production, and unseemless rotation have plagued the emergence of this team for years.

Looking at other teams cuts, I dont see any LB additions we would go after, OL has a good possibility but LB is only 6 deep?? That has me boggled.

Re: Cut List

I think we are in great shape at LB. I expect that Havner and MCCune may make the practice squad. The LBs who did make the 53 man roster can play multiple positions so we would have to lose all three starter (or just Washington) before I really think we would be in big trouble.

Re: Cut List

did spencer havner play much during the pre season ? i seem to recall reading on redskins.com an article about havner, it was saying how much gibbs and co. were impressed with him. i wonder if gibbs didn't want to show his talent during pre season so other teams wouldn't come after him once he was placed on the practice squad.

I don't remember seeing much of Havner. But something tells me if the coaches were that enamored with him, they would have put him on the roster.

no, if you have that great of a talent, don't you think he would be playing right now instead of being cut

playing right now.......NO, not ahead of the other linebackers. but like him enough to not want to lose him even though they couldn't fit him onto the 53 man roster. gibbs has always been known for "stashing" talented players away somewere else other than the 53 man roster.

i'm not saying thats what they're doing with havner, i'm just wondering because of what was said about him earlier during training camp.

Cutting Killings was a bad move. Killings is a proven NFL DT. He stepped in last year and played well when needed. Killings proved his worth in regular season games last year, going against starting NFL offensive lineman.
Montgomery and Golston are rookies that have flashed some skills, but they did it in preseason games going against backups, not starters. You are only as good as your competition and in this case Mont. and Golsten are not ready if called upon.

Boschetti should have been cut instead of Killings.
Killings will get picked up by another team.

It wouldn't surprise me to see the Redskins go after Bears DE/DT Michael Haynes. He was a Blache guy who seemed to get stuck in Lovie Smith's doghouse. I think he can play, although sometimes he seems to get some of that LaVar Arington "I'm just a victim" attitude.

I also feel the roster will add a player or two before the season starts.
How about this huge DT that was cut from KC, Junior Siavii?
A 2004 1st rounder, he was some what of a surprise cut.
At 6' 5" and 320 pounds he must be slow and an underachiever to get cut.

I think it would be wise to go after somebody else on the D-line. I don't know about you, but sometimes I feel like we're walking on eggshells with just Griffin and Salave'a.
