I think you start the season on Labor Day, like you used to. Then have a season from Labor Day to President’s Day. One bye early in the season and one bye later in the season.

Of course this is about money. You can add 2 weeks- 18th game and 2nd Bye. That’s more money. The nfl can now have all teams participating in one international game. I heard talk of an international package of 16 weeks- which would be sold to network/streamer. More money. It wouldn’t shock me if playoffs went to 16 teams.

The 18 game season could see franchise expansion.


I think players will ultimately agree because of more money but will want concessions. 2nd Bye is a must. Expansion of roster. Gameday roster and overall roster. Changes in the offseason. Think players put up a proposal to get rid of all offseason camps and add some time before preseason/Training camp. Of course health issues. I could also see the draft reduced a round or two. Players try to get as many concessions as possible and that article I posted listed them.
