Also, Staubach, Carmichael, Cunningham, etc were playing against 210# linebackers and 250# defensive lineman. Not really comparable.
RG3 was one of the worst open field runners to ever play in the NFL, no feel or vision. Just a straight line track guy who had no idea how to protect himself. Couldn't slide, wouldn't run out of bounds, not sure if it was ego or just stupidity.

I don't see Daniels in the same way.

Agreed Jaden runs more like Cunningham and Lamar vs RG3 did, and he actually knows how to slide.

If he can't or won't learn how to slide, I don't want him.

RG3's "I'm as tough as anybody on the field and I'll fight for every yard" mentality ruined his entire career. The best ability is availability.

True, luckily jaden does know how to slide, he's taken a couple hits but its football everyone who runs will get hit at some point, he is much better laterally than RG3 was too

Well from what I've seen Daniels one of the criticisms of Daniels is he doesn't protect himself while running (Which means he is more like RG3.

RG3 simply wasn't able to protect himself. Daniels has the capability, he just has to be smarter about what hits you can take in the NFL. And when it's possibly worth the risk or not. There's a difference between the two.

The brass is meeting with McCarthy tonight for dinner before pro day tomorrow.
I知 hearing more about Vikings wanting to trade up for Maye.

We may(e) end up with a haul of picks, a second tier QB like McCarthy or Penix. I知 also hearing Justin Jefferson is in play. 👀

I know a lot of you are enamored with Daniels and Maye. I知 not sure there痴 a whole lot of drop off between them and Penix and McCarthy. Sprinkle in 2 #1s, 2#2s and JJ, I値l take it in a heartbeat.

FYI, Penix is not a 2nd tier QB imo. He may be in the eyes of the media, and maybe some teams, fans... but when you watch his games, he is the best QB in this draft. He makes more "NFL" type of throws, tight window, deep balls, you name it. And although I like Daniels, I think he is 2nd among the QB's IMO, I don't see him having an elite arm like Penix does. But he can make up for that w/ his running and playmaking. So therefore I'm all in favor of trading back and grabbing Penix.

McCarthy? He just doesn't have elite skills, neither as a runner or passer.

The best ability is availability. If Penix wasn't dealing with injuries so often his stock would be higher.

I would be good with Penix in a trade back scenario. He's been healthy the last 2 years and has dominated. I've never seen a qb take his team to the title game and have his stock hit so badly. Kid was nearly flawless up to that game last year. Michigan had an absurdly good defense- national title like. Penix has a cannon, is a superb leader, highly accurate and good pocket presence. Would not be surprised at all if he has a great pro career.

RG3 couldnt, Ive seen Daniels protect himself and slide. In Daniels career, I have seen him take 3 hits that were like, that was a hard one.

2 were blindsides and the one against Ole Miss he had just gotten away from a defender and his teammate missed a block and he got smacked

I saw him take one that looked exactly like RG3's Baltimore hit. In fact I watched the whole compilation of his runs and often times he was pushing for that extra yard and I didn't see him slide once in those clips.
