Which has been a career long issue for him pre-NFL

I am not sure it can be "coached" out of him

Sure it can. Arm strength cannot be coached. Getting rid of the ball certainly can. Literally run drills in practice where the damn idea is to throw the ball away?
He has to come to the realization that a loss of down is better than a loss of down + a loss of yardage. It is just a stubbornness thing.

Maybe not, but surely a competant OC would recognise the problem and design a system and call plays in such a way as to minimise the issue
