If you are grading him based on this year, I would agree. However, if you throw out this year, the year J McDaniel inserted himself, he's definitely a top 10 QB.
This was a down year for him I guess: 3522 yards passing, a 60.8% completion percentage, with 24 TDs, and 14 INTs The previous five years he averaged over 4100 yards passing, 67.5% completion percentage, 22 TD, and 11 INT Anyway, top 15 QBs make about $35 million/avg. Everyone wants a top QB, but no one wants to pay for one. That said, I would rather roll with Howell and pick up a cheaper FA QB...but if they are hell bent on going after a top QB, if D Carr makes it to free agency, in my opinion he's the best option because it doesn't require giving up players or picks...assuming you can get a deal done. |
