julius Jones

Well TAFKAS, it was smart becasue we were able to trade down and get the players we got. Jacob Rogers, Stephen Peterman Patrick Crayton ect. We have done that the past few years and were able to get players and still fill positions we needed. Granted a few of those players mentioned didnt pan out but Parcells felt (and so did I at the time) that there wasnt that much difference between Steven jackson, Greg Jones, Kevin Jones and Julius Jones. So he went ahead and drafted JJ. The interestin thing about that draft is Parcells said he had Julius on his board reguardless, so he got the player he wanted. I thought it was a great pick-up and only time will tell if he can stay healthy. If he does he will be very good for a long time, he has speed and power that marion barber doesnt have.

Re: Dallas will get sweet revenge

i think the one thing that is seperating our teams right now is offensive line play.our o line is playing pretty good right now and the cowboys are not.group that with the way the cowboy d line was pushed all over the field sunday and we might have something going for us.and the play where eddie kennison scored on the cowboys was almost the exact play that moss used twice against them earlier.maybe they still havent learned(or at least r williams hasnt)one of the best plays against arizona was the 4th quarter conversion of a 3rd and seven where our o line practically pushed portis for the first down.now that is something that looked like a blast from the past

steven jackson is no more of an "upright runner" than eric dickerson, o.j simpson, roger craig or eddie george was. all of those guys were pretty good in their prime.

redskins will play the cowroids tuff and the score will be close but in the end the skins will probably lose do to some bullshit officiating that always occurs when they play dallas.

Re: Dallas will get sweet revenge

I think the difference in Julius this season compared to last season is his quickness. He is not as quick as last season. He added some weight and muscle mass in the offseason.

That and I think he is trying to be a more "patient" runner, he is spending too much time waiting for lanes to develop. Whereas MB3 just runs DOWNHILL, he does not wait for lanes, he gets in his route and plays follow the leader. When MB3 takes off it is northbound, whereas if you look at Julius this season he will not get to the line as fast as he did his rookie year.

I think if he just "played the game that got him here" he will do just fine. He neede to get to full speed faster and get across the line of scrimmage quicker.

Well what we got was that second first rounder this past draft who has turned out to be our starting LDE Marcus Spears.

Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith, Jerome Bettis, Jim Brown, Marshall Faulk, Barry Sanders, Earl Campbell, John Riggins.

Upright runners just don't fare as well as traditional 'pads down' runners it just a fact. That doesn't mean that they can't succeed, just means that the deck is stacked against them.

Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups

Watch out for Antonio Brown and/or Sean Taylor thrown in the offensive mix.
