Re: Antonio Brown...wildcard?

I'm not at all convinced that Antonio Brown is a wildcard or "gamechanger" just because he had one nice kickoff return. I mean, the wedge cleared out every tackler for him - all he had to do was run straight ahead. That's it! No fancy moves - just "run, forrest, run!" Hell, Derrick Dockery could've run back that kickoff...

Jimmy Farris was running along side of him the whole way AND blocking and looked a whole lot faster than Brown. Hmmmm... maybe that's because Ahole Brown was blowing kisses from the 30 yard line. Can't say I'm too impressed with that crap!

If he gets a few more good returns this week AND doesn't cough the ball up - I may start to give him some credit. But a "special weapon" he ain't.

Farris is not even close to Brown in terms of straight foot speed. And what was wrong with him blowing a kiss to the crowd? There wasn't a defender within 20 yards of him.

yeah but the first time he did it was 50yds away from the endzone! within the 10 do your thing, on the 50 grab that ball muff-man.

Allow me to enlighten you on a few things:

1) First of all, there was a defender within 5 yards of him - that's why he took a break from his kiss blowing party to kick it in the final 30 yards.

2) Second, Jimmy Farris actually was running a lot faster than Antonio Brown and I will prove it:

2a) Farris runs a 4.37 40 yard dash, and Brown supposedly runs it in 4.18 (not bad!). HOWEVER, consider that if you calculate in the air friction gradient of Brown's arm/hand extending and retracting with each kiss and factor in the diminished lung capacity due to air kisses and whatever he was shouting at the time (I imagine he was saying something like "How you like them apples now, beeatches!?" or "Hee, hee, hee, hee (schoolgirl giggle)").

Simple thermodynamical calculus can be utilized to determine that:

4.18 (starting speed) + 20x0.05x0.183 (estimated 20 air kisses times wind resistance) + 5x0.0129 (estimated 5 schoolgirl giggles) =

4.43 seconds, which is actually slower than Farris' kiss-free time of 4.37.

There you go.

I usually agree w/ Matty - but pre-touchdown celebrations are not cool. We've all seen too many go awry.

I know this was tongue in cheek, but:

1) The defender you are refering too was the punter, and I assure you, even if he was "5 yards" from him, Antonio Brown knew, just like the rest of us knew, there was no way the punter was going to run him down.

2) Your numbers are impressive, but your forgetting the X-factor in the equation.

Antonio Brown - 40 time (adjusted for kiss celebration) = 4.43 - 0.2(5'10" 173lbs black guy factor) = 4.23 overall speed.

Jimmy Farris - 40 "kiss-free" time = 4.37 + 0.1(6' 200lbs lanky white guy factor) = 4.47 overall speed.

While I appreciate that Jimmy Farris is a relatively fast, lanky white guy(being a somewhat lanky white guy myself), he stills falls short in the speed department when compared to Antonio Brown.

Wow - I didn't see the race card coming. How come that *white* british dude on the ESPN movie broke the 4 minute mile?! And he was as lanky as they come...

Ok, seriously - here is my plan to take some of the heat off of Santana: Put Art Monk in the game with Taylor Jacobs uniform on. As long as he doesn't take his helmet off, no one would know. Oh wait- yes they would -because TJ would actually be making plays and that would give it away. Never mind, my bad.
