Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups
Considering the team is not looking at additional secondary, I have to believe at least a couple of the corners will be available. This game will come down to turnovers and a big play. Whichever team gets no turnovers and that one big play will take this game. I do think they are going to try and get someone we don't expect to be a big contributor who will be our Patrick Crayton from last year, hopefully jacobs does step up and can get over the top and becomes our surprise big play man. I think the players realize the importance of the game and will play through injuries unless they are hurting the team.

Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups
I want the Redskins to come out throwing. We need to put that defense on it's heels quick and change their gameplan.
Defense is where this gets tricky! Do we drop lots of people back to cover those receivers, or do we go after Bledsoe likes he's a 30 year old statue QB? Personally I'd bring pressure and hope to force mistakes rather than let our defensive line get pressure.

Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups
Brunell has got to take advantage of Roy William's tendencies this week and abuse him. If he plays the run, check to a pass and if he blitzes, throw the quick hitter to Moss or Cooley. Anyone know if Thrash will be availabe to play? We really need him. He was big in Week 2.

Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups
I think Rogers will play, just sounds like a muscle strain. Springs I'm very worried about, though.
I think this is the week Gibbs bust out a trick play or two. Remember the 1992 playoffs, fake punt on a direct snap to Brian Mitchell? When it's a must-win game, that's when Gibbs starts pulling out the tricks. I think we're going to need to hit a big play like that to take this game. I think we'll have a mediocre running day. I think our O-Line will be really fired up, but so will the Dallas D. It's going to take a contribution from Taylor Jacobs, a trick play or a big special teams play, and solid play from Jimoh (we're going to need him, whether as a starter or as a nickel). Or we could just dominate the turnover battle. Let's go Sean Taylor, time to step up big boy! |

Taylor has definitely been laying the wood on some people. I agree about Rogers, I think he'll be able to play. I'll be on pins and needles until tomorrow when we see the injury report.

Re: Dallas will get sweet revenge
Yeah, I must admit all the Dallas fans that Ive seen on this site 5Rings has had some really great conversations about us. I love to get other fans opinions on their teams, I just wish I could be as respectful.
WE WANT DALLAS! I think one thing being underestimated this week is crowd noise. This is a huge game for the skins and everyone knows it. I expect this crowd to be absolutely nuts. It's been a long..... time coming.

Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups
I don't like seeing Moss again, but - exculding the KC game - both moss and Glenn disappeared a little bit. I thought it was cause they're small and maybe got a little banged up and worn down.
Can Wash rush the passer without arrington? Will Ware give your LT the jumps again? It seems as if Dallas is getting it's offense on track while Wash is not. Big D 27 Skins 13

Re: Dallas will get sweet revenge
5Rings my hat is off to you. But the other guy spewing the crap about Larry Johnson, guess just doesn't realize the game plan Tuna had for KC. You guys won, barely but you won. Thats all that really counts.

Re: Cowboys-Redskins: Bad Matchups
Arrington hasn't been much of a factor rushing the passer all year, he usually comes out on 3rd downs.
As for Ware, how many sacks did he have last time? Oh that's right, zero. |

Re: Dallas will get sweet revenge
CRT3,
yeah we squeezed by there, BP knew that the KC offence was a bad matchup for us so he opened the playbook on offence and Hoped the D could get a turnover/stops when we needed them. That offence is All world. Washingtons offence........ We will look to win the time of possession battle here cause we know that your offence isn't exactly a quick strike type of deal. I think we concentrate on Portis and Moss and -I Hope! - put a spy on Brunell, so you gotta beat us with Cooley and Royal. (Is Cooley out? Sellars? Thrash too?Arrington? I know we got some injuries, but where are your role players on offence?) And we gotta stick Brown on ST. This team remembers that Monday night loss. Parcells will have them Jacked up.

Yeah Ware seems to have hit a bit of a wall, but everyone still has to chip him with a RB or a FB/TE on passing downs. That takes one of your options out of the mix. I think we got to 'spy' Brunell at least in the 2nd half.
