I agree with this. I think that there must have been some real high expectations for this defense based on some of the utter dismay I have seen with regard to the first two games.

Admittedly, I thought we would see a much better defense than we have thus far, but I still believe this will be a top 10 unit in the end. I mean you couldn't have expected that they were just going to shut opponents down right off the bat - especially with all the new pieces in the secondary. Fuller and Curl are really the only dudes getting significant snaps - who also got significant snaps last year. It's going to take a minute for it to all come together. Maybe it never will...maybe JDR sucks...maybe CY is a bust... I don't think any of that is true, but time will tell.

Either way, they are 1-1, and I'm not panicking after two games.

Given the talent here and the natural assumption they would improve over last year when they were top 5 in a lot of categories, they are seriously underperforming right now. I don't think it's too crazy that fans expected more at this point. Long way to go, but they need to pick it up.

Agreed. We retained most of our starters from last year with the exception of a couple - it's natural to expect improvement. At least they have plenty of time left to get the issues worked out. But if we can get improvement on the back end we have the talent to compete with nearly everybody.

I don't think it's crazy to expect more, like I said, I expected more too.
