Does 5 people constitute an out of town fanbase? I'm not saying there aren't WFT fans outside of DC, I'm saying there aren't very many. And I bet the average age of those fans is 40+. WFT hasn't done anything to attract new fans in 30 years.

What's more telling to me is how much the fan base has shrunk in the DMV. I live in the MD suburbs and nobody around me is a WFT fan. When I first moved here it was everyone but now they have changed to Balt. Between the losing, Snyder, and all the BS surrounding this organization people either dont care about WFT or downright hate them. If I owned this organization that would give me pause.

It was just a quick example showing the out of town fans are still there.

The fan base as a whole has probably shrunk over the years but I know just personally anytime I got out to a bar to watch a game I'm never the only Skins fan there. Consistent winning will bring back plenty of fans.

He forgot the biggest fan from Oklahoma too.. lol I've been a lifelong fan and I actually grew up in south MS, Saints territory. I'm only 34 so it is possible but I see what u are saying.

Re: Come up with a new name for the Redskins

There's a loud local group of Skins' fans here in Louisville. I haven't attended a game watch with them for a while, but I doubt that much has changed with the loyalties of those in the group.

If you're gonna stick with them through the crap they've been the last couple of decades, why change now, when we're on the verge of truly being formidable?

I'd submit, it's easier to stick with your team in the age of fantasy football. While they may suck, you can get your winning-fix through your FF team.

As a city without a team, but surrounded by NFL markets, you can pretty much find local bars hosting a variety of NFL team fan bases here in Louisville.

The Bengals is probably the "local" team most rooted for, although the Colts have tried to claim Louisville as part of their territory. The Titans are about the same distance away to the south, but don't have much traction here.

For the odd fan bases, we have a size able Green Bay Packers fan base here (Paul Hornung's influence started that), as well as Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, and Minnesota Vikings (no idea why). And probably like a lot of cities, we have a very annoying Steelers contingent here ... and of course, those bastard Cowboys.
