I see WFT Twitter daily and a lot of them are stupid and are going to be pissy regardless. This was the best possible outcome. If you give up picks for Darnold or pay Trubisky a big FA salary, they are going to be the guy (and they’re probably going to suck).

With Fitz, he’s clearly not a long term solution. Team guy. Crazy smart. 9 teams. Seen it all. Will be able to adjust to a new team with a limited offseason without issue. Gives us the option to still draft a rookie high. If he stinks, Heinicke will get a shot and with Darnold or Trubisky, they probably would be left in regardless of what they did.
