My guess is he got an opportunity to start in Carolina and threw three interceptions. He choked. Understandable being an undrafted guy outta Old Dominion. Threw 55 passes though and hurt his elbow. Tough break. But he was never going to get the second chance ( or third fourth fifth etc) that say a Dwayne Haskins would. But he got that second chance miraculously and showed us he has huge potential.

At the least he will get an opportunity going into camp to prove he deserves to be the starter. But I agree, I would still bring in competition for him, either in the form of a rookie or a vet. We can't go all-in after 1 game, even though that game was impressive.

Im absolutely not saying he should be handed the job. Im saying i think he will earn it and then we will see more of the same.
If some stud lands in our laps in the draft then by all means jump on it. Too many good quarterbacks is never a problem.

Exactly. He was fabulous last night, and exactly what this team needed to win that game. But all this talk about anointing him the day 1 starter already is extremely premature.

So true. Draft position always determines how much rope you have in the NFL.
