What AS has done really is just short of a miracle. Not to mention he is a 100% outstanding guy. But at this point in his career and after such a crushing injury, he just isn't the same player. The goal is to compete for a SB. Not have a sub par 500 record and make the playoffs cause the division is so bad. Can you compete for a SB w/ Smith as your QB? I would say no, you can't. We simply will not be able to score week in and week out against a team like the Saints, Bucs or Rams, or even Dallas w/ a healthy Dak. We are going to need a guy to win games when the defense plays poorly. We need a guy who can take over a game, not just manage it. If we are going to get to that next level we need a guy who can take us there, who can make the guys on offense better. That guy is not Smith.
