Re Rivera at ends of halfs ... I think he doesn't trust our pass pro and doesn't want to see big negative plays like Haskins getting killed or throwing an jnt.

What is the difference if that happens at the end of a half or any other time though?

Pass rushers have their ears pinned back in clear passing plays and our pass pro won't be able to protect long enough for the down field passing play to develop

I understand that. I just do not understand why that would be worse at the end of a half. There are clear passing plays all through the game. When you are down two scores and down near the redzone with 35 seconds left and you are playing for a field goal that is inexcusable imo.
It doesn’t even matter though. This team and its coaching staff is far superior than ours. Far superior.
