Rushing it would have probably ended with uninspiring generic name and logo. Part of me wants to believe it'll give them time to figure out the trademark issue with the Arkansas State Redwolves. Anyway, we can now get back to talking football !

"Who do you root for?" "The Club."  Aside from not sounding stupid, an NFL team needs a nickname for marketing and merchandising success. Going the soccer route will not be popular, just as soccer has never gained mass popularity in the USA despite so much money and effort by the sports media to prop it up. Washington FC would be the worst team name in ALL of major pro sports. (not considering soccer a major pro sport)
