Skins getting heat again over name issue

The way I see it if you're in a group of people telling others what shouldn't bother them, you're just as bad as those telling others what should bother them.

It's not a stretch to think a word that's defined in the dictionary as being racist, is offensive to some people. Would we even consider naming a team today Redskins? Of course not.

That’s a fair point.

But again, I find it strange some would support and even vote for a person like Elizabeth Warren who actually lied about NA heritage more than once and benefited from it. But that’s a different subject, for a different time.

To be fair the Definition of Redskin has been changed over the years to add that language and they use the term offensive not racist.

In all fairness, I didn't see the term defined in the dictionary as racist. Derogatory or contemptuous, but not necessarily racist. There is a difference.

Redskin is a slang term for Native Americans in the United States and First Nations in Canada. The term "redskin" underwent pejoration through the 19th to early 20th centuries and in contemporary dictionaries of American English it is labeled "usually offensive", "disparaging", "insulting", or "taboo".
