Re: Ron Rivera Thread

KOC went to the Rams not to call offensive plays but to LEARN under McVay. This means that O’Connell was not the finished product that many of us thought he was. He has potential but we must remember that the Redskins offense was last in the NFL. Some of that was Callahan’s ridiculous adherence to a “run heavy” offense with a banged-up, replacement OL. But I look at McVay as seeing potential in KOC, but NOT ready for prime time.

We’ll see if Scott Turner can bring the Redskin’s offense out of the cellar.

Wrong, he went to become Matt LaFleur part 2, the Rams offense went downhill after he left last year. You are underestimating KOC.

The Titans offense got better once LaFleur left.

To be fair, the offense got better when Tannehill replaced Mariota..

I’m not underestimating KOC. He might turn out to be a great OC or possibly even a good or better HC outside the Redskins organization, as others obviously haves done who left this dumpster fire. However, he’s probably not ready for prime time, RIGHT NOW. He’s going to learn under McVay and will be used to design plays for the offense.

The Redskins were the 32nd in terms of offense. Mostly it was Gruden and Callahan. But any team would be crazy to move KOC right to a OC spot after he ran the worse offense in the NFL and until they’re sure he really has what it takes to have that much responsibility. KOC may be great one day, but for now he’s going to learn under the master.

Who thought KOC was a finished product? He called like a quarter of the season last year LOL. It was obvious to anyone interested in him that he would be available as OC and/or playcaller, obviously he's not ready for primetime yet.
