No, I'm not going to start a petition for Chris Simms in Canton. I said this defense made him LOOK like a Hall of Famer. After two bad performances, he lines up against the Skins and suddenly lights it up.

And I didn't call for anyone to be cut, either.

This defense didn't make him look like a hall of famer though. Hall of Famers get in based on how they perform their whole careers, not one game. You have to remember on any given Sunday, any average joe can come out and look like a hero. And i know you didn't say anyone should be cut either, it's just some of the things that come up after a loss are ridiculous. The title for this fucking topic says Chris Simms played like a Hall of Famer, not Our Defense made Chris Simms look like a Hall of Famer.

Apparently, you cannot grasp the point. I am not saying Chris Simms belongs in the Hall of Fame. I'm reacting to the outcome of this game, where he picked us apart, looked poised in the pocket -- and really, how could he not be with the way he was never threatened to be sacked -- and looked like a guy who had been in the NFL for ten years an seen everything. He played NOTHING like a 4th round pick who's been backing somebody else up for the last three years.

I don't know how I can get this across to you. I'm saying, "Man, that figures, Chris Simms sucks until he plays the Redskins, and tonight he plays like he's a friggin Hall of Famer."

I am not saying, "Man, did you see Chris Simms play? One day, his bust will appear in the Hall of Fame!!!"

Do you see the difference?

And Sunra, why is bitching about a loss make one a "fairweather fan" ??

Apparantly, you cannot grasp my point. I'm saying it's very stupid of you to act like the Redskins are a college football team after one close loss. I am also saying you are overreacting.

I realize you are not saying "Man, did you see Chris Simms play? One day his bust will appear in the Hall of Fame.

I don't know how I can get this across to you. Let me try. You are overreacting.

You say he played nothing like a fourth round pick who has been backing someone else up for the last two years. I'm saying, any given sunday, someone can come out against a good defense and look like he's been a pro all his life. It happens.

I hate fans who always start the bitching machine up after a loss. A real fan would look at the mistakes, and move on to next week.

Good, I'm glad you finally acknowledged this. But I never said anything about the Redskins looking like a college team.

In order for one to get a point across, one first has to make the point. That's the first time you've said I'm overreacting. If that's the way I appear, sorry. That's what a real fan does after a loss.

On this point, we agree. But I believe our defensive personnel, with their complete inability to generate a pass rush, contributed to his performance, making him look very effective.

Because when we win or lose, there are several people on this site who discuss the pros and cons without shitting on every single thing the Redskins did including vindicating the Refs by stating that they didn't affect the game in anyway. When the Redskins lose, threads from people I've never heard of all of a sudden begin to pontificate on the reasons we loss like that woman reporter from Washington Post. If your're here during the good and the bad times then I'm not talking about you. It's that simple.

I said the refs' calls were fair (even if they MIGHT have been wrong). I'm not sure if you're post was directed my way. But, I haven't said anything "negative" about the Redskins other than that they could not generate a pass rush from the front four.

By the way, fairweather fans don't hang around after a loss....hence the "fairweather."
