Re: Redskins have claimed LB Reuben Foster
"Small potatoes"....this shows the mindset in which this decision was made. It's not that they are giving him the benefit of the doubt, its not that they are relying on a large support group to help a young guy make better decisions; it's that it's not seen as a big deal. Williams said they all sat down and discussed this at length, based on these comments we can infer what was said in the meeting.
Next to say that if he worked at mcdonalds that this would go unnoticed or would not stop him from getting a job....that is a horrible justification or explanation of why this is ok. We don't wear the name tags of our favorite mcdonalds cashier on our chest, we do wear the name of our favorite player on our back. That is why football players are under a microscope and while they are young and immature--it doesn't change that fact. No one wants to be under that microscope but it justifiably comes with the job. The skins will and should get shit for this. They didnt evem send out Bruce or snyder to talk. The comments after the fact truly put this move into perspective. In 2 years I'm sure foster will be a good player on this team. It doesn't make it ok. We did a bad job today. Maybe he gets his shit together and at the very least gets the help he needs or if in the case he is innocent, surrounds himself with better people. |
