6. I’m mentioning this one rush in the third quarter because it’s a chance to talk about Ryan Anderson. He hasn’t threatened the quarterback enough during camp so it’s easy to wonder what direction he’ll take in this area. You have to give players time to develop and not everyone does so right away. With Anderson, the power is evident and that leads to the one rush where he did a nice job. He ran an inside stunt and drove the lineman back into a sack. Anderson stayed low and his strength made the difference.

Definitely not putting much stock in that thought, not for this year at least

Re: Jets Gameday thread

I see Ryan Anderson's ceiling to be akin to a Rocky McIntosh - which is to say, at his best, he'll be "just-a-guy" guy. However, I am not seeing anyone jump out ahead of him for his roster spot. For now, he's a cheap back-up who knows the defense and may yet improve.

Again, patience guys, he may yet develop and seems to be working hard to do so. He's likely here for another couple years unless someone jumps in front of him.

Witten said many, many silly things. After the first couple, I was unsurprised by the silly things he said.

I realize its their first time on air (I think), but the new MNF team was just bad and really distracted from the game rather than enhancing it. When they weren't spouting banalities, they were offering insights that were just not, well, insightful. I realize its preseason but it's as if they had done no research on either team beyond ESPN headlines. ... and their hard-on for Darnold was insufferable. It was a Cris Collingsworth man-crush in stereo.

Good point. He went from zero, zed, nada sacks last season to possibly having something to do with another player getting a sack in the second preseason game. Wow! Way to draft yet another player who doesn't fit any NFL position. As you can see, I'm very impressed.

He's like watching soccer: "Ooh, ooh! Wow! Did you see what almost happened on that play!"

Where is Harvey Clemons? We're going to need him in there cause not a one of our inside backers can cover anyone. That is going to continue to be an issue for us. But with a healthy Allen and Payne, man if we can just keep those two guys healthy, along with Matt I. ... good lord, we have 3 young potential studs in there.

Yeah the new booth wasn't good. I think the play by play guy Tessitore is an upgrade over McDonough, he brings more in terms of energy... but Witten and McFarland need work.

Witten needs to realize there is a camera in front of him that he should be talking to and I thought Booger needs to slow down, I found him hard to understand at times. Neither of them added much in terms of insight, and they almost seemed to be forcing lines in like praising Darnold when he just got a ball batted back in his face.

rich tandler said this morning Settle was way to talented to be on the bench...team will try to find him snaps...upwards of 20+ a game.

Re: Jets Gameday thread

Fat Fucking Rob. Rob Kelley. Robert Gruden.
I'm worried we are going to ride this loser to a 7-9 season.

Hopefully Perine can win the starting job.
He has a little bit of an upside and I want to see what he can do as the primary RB.

Perine needs to be able to step up and take this opportunity...I mean what does it say when you cant beat out Rob Kelly for the job?

Not gonna argue that: we could have drafted better. Not saying there's anything to wowed by there, but if he went from "what is that guy doing on a football field?" to "we may have a back up OLB on our roster" it's a small win imo.
