Here's the order of the 2nd round tonight, and who their top RB is. I'm bolding the teams that could take a RB:

1 Cleveland (lead back: Carlos Hyde)
2 New York (Saquon Barkley)
3 Cleveland (Carlos Hyde)
4 Colts (Marlon Mack who??)
5 Colts (Marlon Mack who??)

6 Bucs (Jacquizz Rodgers)
7 Bears (Jordan Howard)
8 Broncos (Devontae Booker)
9 Raiders (Marshawn Lynch and Doug Martin)
10 Dolphins (Frank Gore)
11 Pats (Sony Michel)
12 Redskins

There are a lot of teams there who could easily take Guice. Now I don't love the idea of trading up, but next year we're going to have a lot of compensatory picks. If we trade away a pick next year to do it, I might be OK with it.

Yeah.... Colts are taking Guice lol

Would you try to trade for Cleveland's first pick in the second round, and give them our 4th and one of our 5ths? It's the right value, I don't know if they would take it. I imagine the first pick of the 2nd round has a bit of exaggerated value as teams reshuffle their boards.

edit: actually that value is for their second pick, the one after the Giants...

If I were Bruce Allen, I would definitely pay the price to move up for the first pick of the round if I believed that Guice is a special player who could significantly improve our running game.

noooooooo, they need a starting guard, a starting RB, a starting CB, and help just about everywhere. That is the type of move you make if you are 1 player away from being a league champion.

If we got a day 1 starting guard as a result of a trade, I would sign CJ Anderson tomorrow, pick up cb's in the 5th and 6th round.

And be happy as hell with the offseason

Whatever they do will probably be OK with me.

So glad you aren't the GM. You would have reached BIGLY on that pick too and wasted picks instead of gaining some.

He fell unexpectedly, genius. I'm a fan, not a detective. He is a first round talent, so that would not have been a reach.

If you aren't a GM, how do you know he's a 1st round talent? Hell, even ESPN had him ranked 4th at the RB position. A lot of it probably comes down to work ethic and character. He may be lacking in one or the other or even both.

I'd get Portis to take him under his wings.
