According to Mike Jones, McC views Kirks ceiling as somewhere less than elite. Of course Kirk doesnt like that, was feeling a little emotional after that great game he'd just had and wanted to rub it in

The point is there is a mixed message of McC and KC. It has been portray that McC has been in KC's corner the whole time and BA/DS have been the ones not sold on him but when "I" put it all together in my head "I" believe they as a group (BA DS McC) were not the biggest believers in KC.

I dont know about Dan but as far as Bruce, Scot, and Jay go here's the way I understand it: Bruce absolutely did not want to pay Kirk, Scot wanted to but had limits based on how he viewed Kirks ceiling, and Jay just wanted Kirk locked up no matter the cost. This was in 2015 according to Mike Jones(sorry to keep going back to him but that interview on 980 was gold)...

I can't blame Scot for his evaluation of Kirk. Michigan State is known for being a really good backup QB factory for the NFL. 2017 is going to be very interesting. Without his vet receivers around he will have to deal with all youngsters, with Crowder being the only one that has proven himself to be able to be a starter. I am hoping Harris steps it up. Doctson is still a big question mark. I am thinking that we will draft another wr for insurance. If Kirk does well, I think he will definitely shut up all the doubters, as he can thrive with a young wr corp. I don't like what the organization did with Scot, but it is a done deal, and he isn't coming back. It will be quiet and boring at Redskin Park and in the forum til draft day.

whoa....what the heck are you trying to sell us?

You want us to NOT overreact, until we give something time to run it's course?

Seriously, though....good post.
I don't know what to think of McClain & McGee yet. I don't think we need superstars or Pro Bowlers to improve over last year.

If they can stop the run effectively & maintain their area, we have some decent edge rushers that might make things work out overall.

No, why overreact when the deal is done. Also the bit about MSU QBs is spot on. Kirk is the only one that has earned a starting role and kept it. Back in 2015 if I was the GM, I would have still been hesitant to give Kirk a big offer as well knowing the MSU history and also the fact that the rest of the division was just as banged up or worse than we were. If 2016 was Kirk's ceiling we are in decent shape, just have to make sure to always have shiny new weapons for Kirk to throw to and a line that keeps him nice and comfy!!!!!! Can't say Bruce Allen fucked up with just the Scot McC fiasco, as we will never know what really went down. Especially since Gruden might have played a big factor in it as well. So just strap yourself into your lazy boy this season and let it ride. I mean, what other choice do you have, unless you want to ditch the team.
