You do realize that Gruden could have made similar money elsewhere, right? Possibly Minnesota for one.

You are an idiot if you dont think we got turned down by Philips, Fangio, any other coaches because of the ****fest Snyder has run here.

We had how many interviews prior to Gruden? People will come here. We now have a competent GM, even more would be willing to come. Seriously... who is turning down a 2 year 25 mil contract? Since most will be given a 5 year contract and fired after 2.

I gave you the names of two people that did turn us down for d coordinator. Seriously, you really think the skins are a desirable situation now. That odds are good Snyder won't drive McCloughan (back) to drink?

Well, if the odds are the Snyder wont drive McC to drink, thats a good thing. And you are talking about Fangio, where is he now? Who is hiring him to be a HC?

None of this changes that Gruden did not have to be begged. Which is your assertion. He took the job the instant it was offered.

we have no idea how long the skins talked to Gruden before he was hired, I doubt it was instant. And reread my posts about Fangio and philips.

Remember when we had to settle for Zorn as HC because after ditching Fassell, no one else would come here? I think we were in that situation after the Shanny circus, which was at least partly Snyder's fault. If Snyder demonstrates patience with Gruden and McC, MAYBE we get someone respectable if we have to replace them.

And I'm not sure how you misinterpreted my post about odds that Snyder wont drive McC to drink.

Gruden was announced as the HC only 4 days after his season with Cincy ended. His interview was only a day or two prior to him being hired. We didnt beg him, stop with such nonsense. How many people were interviewed for the job prior to Gruden? It was a good amount.

Can't find links, but believe others were contacted before Gruden and turned Skins down. Closest I found was link alluding "far and wide" search.
Jay Gruden next coach of Washington Redskins - NFL.com

Hard to copy and paste on this tablet, but several contacts with skins and unusually long term contract to bring Gruden in. I know it's conjecture one way or the other, but I guarantee you prior conversations and begging by the skins was done.

It's nonsense to think the skins were desirable for a HC with Snyder and Allen in charge. McC came later. Even now, Snyder's history is not encouraging.
