Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
Any chance McNair (Houston) asks Snyder for permission to talk to Mike for their head coaching spot? Phillips and the defense are in place, Mike and Kyle (with his Houston ties) come in, not a system overhaul, maybe can resurrect Schaub for a season while grooming a rookie.. Maybe we get a 3rd and a conditional 2nd in 2015 out of the deal? It allows Snyder to make a move without having to 'make a move' and save buying out the contracts of the coaching staff.
I know I'm dreaming but hell, what else do we have at this point?

I do not think the Texans would be that obsessed with getting Shanahan that they would be willing to trade for him. |

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
Best scenario for us bring in Kubiak as OC, Kyle gets a HC position somewhere.
Realistic situation, Kubiak becomes a consultant in the booth, Kyle stays.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
Hey SS, if Jay Gruden is the lean towards next HC. I imagine Hue Jackson would come to work with RG3, but the question would be DC? Who would you imagine would be brought in? Would that be a Gruden selection or Bruce (or possible new GM)?

As for DC, I mean it's possible Raheem Morris (close to Allen and Gruden) could move up to DC. But I don't really know

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
Health issues may be a concern as to whether Kubiak will work at all next year.
However, after doing some research, we absolutely need Kubiak here in DC as the OC. Mike and Gary have won 3 Superbowls together on the same staff. One with the 49ers and two in Denver. They have not been very successful apart... when they are together they have a record of 114- 62. Apart: Shanahan= 56-72 Kubs= 61-64 Demote Kyle to WR coach and have him work with Kubiak on the play calling. Bring in Kubiak as the OC. Mike and He will create magic here.

Re: Choose Your 2014 Redskins Head Coach
If we brought in Kubiak with Mike.. That would be amazing.

Kubiak would have less stress as a OC and could sit in the booth all day. If A.Gibbs won't come back as OL coach then maybe he can just get paid a ton to be a consultant like he is now in Denver and sit in the booth with Kubiak. Next I'd fire Haslett and bring in another 3-4 DC, simply to try and keep continuity instead of starting completely over again on defense. However I'd easily go with Lovie and his "Tampa Two" if he could be swindled into just taking a DC job. He's a really good DC, but reminds me of Norv Turner. |
