Knight had a hell of a temper and a mouth like a sailor but I do not recall of hearing him ever put his hands on a player. Scream all you want, but as soon as you get violent, you're treading that assault line.

When I played team sports, hell yeah coaches got in my face but overall my coaches were a motivating, positive experience and I admire my coaches for that.

He choked a player (whom eventually got him fired from IU in 2000) he threw a chair at an official, and he smacked a player in a game as a wake up call/pay attention.

Yes he got fired for his choking a player but he was hired by Texas tech and when we talk about BK it's about him as a winning coach and not him as a choker/assaulter.

Depending on the type of smack, I can kinda get behind that. I mean if he whacked him in the head or something that's not cool. But I mean if he kinda smacked his forehead like, "wake up", that's okay. I mean he didn't punch the kid or throw him around.

Not that I condone it but I can kinda understand the chair throwing.

Choking a player is the line and he DID get fired for that. Why Rice hung around for so long is inexcusable.

Tim Pernetti out as Rutgers Scarlet Knights athletic director - ESPN New York

Quote:
"My continued tenure as Athletic Director is no longer sustainable for the University which I attended and where a piece of me will always remain," Pernetti said in his resignation letter. "In connection with the incidents involving former basketball Coach Mike Rice, as was the case with all other matters which I handled on behalf of the University, I always tried my best to do what is right."
Listen to this asshole. "I always tried my best to do what is right." Are you ****ing kidding me? That's why your ass is being forced out. Because you didn't do what's right, and chances are you never have done what's right. You covered up to save face, much like most of these other assholes in the same situations. Hope he never lands another admin job anywhere else again. This guy doesn't need to be in any type of leadership role whatsoever.

Next up, should be Barchi's job. He shouldn't survive this either. It's time people need to realize that if you cover shit like this up, your ass is going to suffer the consequences. It's a shame you have to force people to do what's right.

Mike Rice scandal -- Rutgers professors are right to ask for ouster of president - ESPN New York
